As a Sprinkler System Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, inspection, and installation of fire sprinkler systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Your primary goal is to ensure that the fire sprinkler systems are functioning properly to protect life and property in the event of a fire emergency.

Performance Objectives- Install new fire sprinkler systems according to local building codes and regulations.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on existing fire sprinkler systems to ensure they are in proper working condition.
- Identify and repair any issues or malfunctions in the fire sprinkler system components, including valves, pipes, and sprinkler heads.
- Conduct tests and inspections on fire sprinkler systems to verify their effectiveness and compliance with safety standards.
- Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed on fire sprinkler systems.
- Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to fire sprinkler systems.
- Collaborate with other technicians and professionals to troubleshoot complex issues and provide effective solutions.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in fire sprinkler system installation or testing of water‑based systems is a must.
- Experience working in a similar role as a sprinkler system technician.
- Must meet one of the requirements below in order to obtain your Illinois Inspector License:
- Certification, NICET:
Inspection and Testing of Water‑Based Systems (Level III). - Certification, ASSE: 15010-Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Water‑Based Fire Protection Systems.
- Certification, NFPA:
Water‑Based Inspection, Testing and Maintenance (WBITM). - Proof of satisfactory completion of a certified sprinkler fitter apprenticeship program approved by the U.S. Department of Labor.

- Role requires lifting up to 40 lbs., climbing ladders, and working in tight spaces.
- Core work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
