Job Summary
The Regional Sign Inspector coordinates with branch real estate and operations departments to perform detailed inspections of the inventory in their market based on category.
ResponsibilitiesThe inspector evaluates critical failure points and overall site location of inventory structures. They identify safety issues such as close proximities to electrical wires, surrounding buildings, highways, and other hazards. The inspector determines feasibility and cost-effectiveness of maintaining inventory locations. They identify sign structures for quality standards and structural issues, and complete inspection reports for each structure with a summary sheet for weekly inspections.
Reports include recommended actions for maintenance and are sent to branch President, Real Estate Manager, and Operations Managers. The RSI supervises and directs any personnel assisting the process. The inspector is the first responder in emergency situations to assess structural damages after natural disasters. Other duties as assigned and requested.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the construction field.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, or military experience.
- At least 1 year of experience related to each required certification.
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and welding symbols, and perform tasks associated with engineered drawings.
- Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
- Competency with Microsoft Outlook mail.
- Adaptability, Achievement Orientation, Concern for Safety, Fostering Communication, Functional/Technical Skills, Initiative, Planning and Organizing.
Climbing ladders and/or stairs and working at elevations from 10 to over 100 feet; lifting and positioning ladders, safety equipment, and materials in excess of 85 pounds; standing, bending, stooping, lifting, positioning, holding, pushing, and pulling self, materials, and equipment in excess of 85 pounds; using pulleys, lifts, slings, and other equipment required for elevated work; operating various other equipment (hand tools);
driving and operating trucks, cranes, vans, and related equipment; digging and shoveling of soils, concrete, and fill materials.
In‑state and out‑of‑state travel and overtime required. Must have a valid driver’s license and a commercial driver’s license, Class A or
B. Requires reliable vehicle access. Proficiency in English (written and spoken) required.
