Job Summary
The Engineer at Caravan Court responds to maintenance guest requests and facilitates preventative maintenance in guest rooms and public areas.
Duties- Operational Responsibilities
- Familiarity with door entry system
- Small appliances (TV, Steamer, Safe, Hair Dryer)
- Large appliances (Boilers, Washers, Dryers, Pool Pump, Irrigation)
- HVAC
- Plumbing
- Electrical
- Carpentry
- Refrigeration
- Fire system
- Guest Services
- Anticipate and attend to guest needs during interactions
- Be proactive when attending to guests
- Team Support and Training
- Attend and contribute to department meetings
- Participate in cross training
- Complete all required trainings
- Communication and Reporting
- Facilitate all internal communications and follow up accordingly
- Run all reports necessary to the operation
- Complete full shift pass on reports and checklists
- Log all maintenance work in appropriate platforms
- Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all safety and security guidelines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective time management and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work well with a team and demonstrate attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal abilities
- Intermediate knowledge of power tools
- Intermediate knowledge of general maintenance
- Sitting:
Short periods of time - Standing/Walking:
Long periods of standing, minimum of 5 consecutive hours - Lifting/Carrying:
Occasionally, maximum of 50 pounds
- Interior:
Guest rooms, hallways, public areas - Exterior:
All exteriors of the hotel including rooftops
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas
- Display courteous behavior with guests and team members
- Report any unsafe conditions immediately
- Ensure hotel equipment is in proper working condition
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Education and Experience
- Prior hotel maintenance experience. Minimum 2 years
- No minimum education requirements required
