Engineer II

General Responsibilities

• Perform work using fundamental skills in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, paint/wall cover, and locksmith trades and other general maintenance duties.
• Responsible for all maintenance for the primary trade area of expertise.
• Provide supervision and training to subordinate engineering positions.
• Respond to trouble, complaint, and maintenance request calls throughout the hotel and grounds as directed by supervisor.
• Work with hazardous materials and chemicals, safely and efficiently following manufacturer instructions and MSDS requirements.
• Check clipboard and maintenance request lists daily for work assignments at the start and throughout each shift.
• Communicate status of job assignments and maintenance requests to supervisor.
• Notify supervisor/dispatcher upon completion of work assignments.
• Complete appropriate records associated with performed work.
• Make minor repairs to equipment brought into the shop.
• Assist with dispatcher duties as needed.
• Assist or perform minor set‑up duties for functions throughout the hotel and grounds.
• Be familiar with hotel emergency procedures and respond quickly and accurately.

• Promote and apply teamwork skills at all times.
• Notify appropriate individuals promptly and fully of all problems and/or unusual matters of significance.
• Remain polite, friendly, and helpful to all guests, management, and fellow employees.
• Attend all appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions.
• Maintain cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area.
• Execute emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards.
• Comply with required safety regulations and procedures.
• Comply with hotel and department standards, policies, and rules.
• Recycle whenever possible.
• Remain current with hotel information and changes.
• Comply with hotel uniform and grooming standards.

• Post‑high‑school training in an engineering or maintenance‑related discipline.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Strong mechanical background with a minimum of 2 years of hands‑on maintenance experience.
• Previous hospitality experience required.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 75lb. repetitively.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Guest‑oriented with excellent hospitality skills.
• High‑school diploma or equivalent preferred.
