Support the school by maintaining facilities in good condition by cleaning, minor repairs, and facilities improvement projects as assigned. Conduct all work with a focus on ensuring student safety.

MAINTANENCE SPECIALIST - PORTER

Primary Purpose:

Supporting the school campus by maintaining facilities in good condition by minor repairs and facilities improvement projects as assigned. Conduct all work with a focus on ensuring student safety.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

• High school diploma or GED preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs

Experience:

• Custodial work
• Maintenance experience preferred
• HVAC preferred
• Carpentry and/or construction experience preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Be a role model; uphold school vision of nurture, character, discipline, and academic excellence.
• Oversee campus maintenance projects as assigned.
• Work to ensure campus repairs and maintenance are completed to high quality standards.
• Track maintenance supplies and follow supply order process as assigned.
• Be proactive in maintaining facilities to ensure student and staff safety. Report security concerns to administrators immediately.
• Follow district procedures and attend all staff meetings as assigned.
• Grounds maintenance as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

• Frequent walking, sitting, lifting, stooping, kneeling, standing, crouching, and/or climbing stairs. Exposure to elements of weather. Maintain emotional control under stress. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
