Irrigation Systems Technician

Position Summary...
What you'll do...
Leads and participates in teams by using and sharing resources information and tools
Identifies customer needs and business priorities
Coordinates and executes work assignments
Provides advice feedback and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved
Models and helps team members adapt to change or new challenges
Installs various irrigation systems components for example wiring controllers valves heads rotors main and lateral lines drip lines bubblers
Maintains troubleshoots and repairs irrigation systems to ensure efficient operation
Conducts tasks such as pressure testing trenching and pulling pipe potable and nonpotable systems
Operates special andor heavy equipment and vehicles
Orders irrigation supplies spare parts and other equipment as authorized
Obtains quotes for services from outside contractors as needed
Recommends and assists in the prioritization of upgrades and replacement of systems and equipment
Responds to work order requests and needs for assistance through various communication methods
Leverages technology for example phones tablets laptops to complete work orders and maintain records logs and documentation
Maintains a safe work environment
Observes and adheres to all safety policies and procedures
Reports all safety violations to management
Ensures all assigned equipment tools safety items vehicles trailers and other items are maintained in proper working order by following proper maintenance and inventory schedules
Performs seasonal maintenance for winterizing irrigation systems and starting them up in the spring
Demonstrates promotes and supports compliance with company policies procedures and standards of ethics and integrity
Uses the Open Door Policy
Performs other facility related maintenance duties as assigned
Complies with company policies procedures and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans using the Open Door Policy and applying these in executing business processes and practices
Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies data and resources collaborating with managers coworkers customers and other business partners identifying priorities deadlines and expectations carrying out tasks communicating progress and information determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities and adapting to and learning from change difficulties and feedback
