Key ResponsibilitiesCleaning Operations
- Coordinates and performs the activities of personnel in housekeeping and/or paint department cleaning.
- Transports team member(s) and cleaning equipment to the customer site.
- Ensures pick‑up and distribution of supplies and equipment.
- Responds to customer calls.
- Monitors work activities based on work priority, quantity of equipment, and skill of personnel; informs supervisor of any issues that may occur.
- Monitors work areas and examines tools and equipment to detect unsafe conditions or violations of procedures or safety rules.
- Monitors employees’ work levels and performance; advises supervisor of any deficiencies or issues.
- Examines areas of responsibility and relays information to determine additional needed services or issues.
- Assists employees to correct task or job‑skill deficiencies.
- Stages materials and supplies, such as tools and equipment.
- Performs daily visual inspections of work performed.
- Assists in all areas of cleaning needed to get jobs completed.
- Supervises and coordinates daily cleaning activities across production areas, offices, restrooms, breakrooms, and common spaces.
- Ensures housekeeping tasks are completed according to approved schedules, procedures, and quality standards.
- Monitors cleanliness levels and addresses deficiencies promptly to support manufacturing operations.
- Provides day‑to‑day supervision of housekeeping employees in compliance with a collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
- Assigns tasks, monitors attendance and productivity, and ensures work is performed within defined job classifications and union work rules.
- Supports onboarding and training of new employees in accordance with union guidelines and company policies.
- Communicates effectively with management and union representatives regarding staffing needs, operational concerns, and work assignments.
- Escalates performance, attendance, or conduct issues to management and Human Resources as appropriate.
- Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and site‑specific procedures.
- Enforces safe handling, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals and materials.
- Conducts routine inspections to identify safety hazards, housekeeping deficiencies, or non‑compliance issues.
- Participates in safety meetings, audits, and emergency preparedness activities.
- Monitors inventory levels of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Notifies management of supply shortages or equipment repair and replacement needs.
- Ensures cleaning equipment is properly maintained and safely operated by staff.
- Uses computerized systems to track cleaning schedules, inspections, attendance, and supply usage.
- Enters, reviews, and maintains accurate records in facility management systems or electronic logs.
- Utilizes Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) for reporting, communication, and documentation.
- Prepares basic reports related to housekeeping performance, safety observations, and operational issues for management review.
- Coordinates with production, maintenance, quality, and safety teams to align housekeeping activities with plant operations.
- Supports special cleaning projects, shutdowns, audits, or facility events as required.
- Performs additional duties as assigned to support facility cleanliness, safety, and operational goals.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional vocational or technical training preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years of housekeeping or janitorial experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment.
