About the Role:

The Maintenance Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the upkeep and efficient operation of facilities and equipment within an organization. This position involves assisting skilled maintenance personnel in performing routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and functional environment. The Maintenance Assistant contributes to minimizing downtime by promptly addressing maintenance requests and helping to identify potential issues before they escal.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities support role.
• Familiarity with electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systems.
• Basic understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
• Certification in OSHA or other relevant safety training.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals or blueprints.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in performing routine maintenance and repair tasks on equipment, machinery, and building systems under supervision.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and report findings to the maintenance team.
• Support the setup and breakdown of equipment for various operational needs.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory of tools and supplies.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols during all maintenance activities.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and help troubleshoot minor issues.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
