CUSTODIAL SPECIALIST – POSITION DESCRIPTION DEPARTMENT:

Non-Exempt

SALARY RANGE: $18.30 - $22.80

SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL:
Additional $1.50 per hour for nights and weekends

REPORTS TO:

Custodial Supervisor
* Shift: 10PM to 6:30AM

Performs a variety of cleaning and light maintenance tasks related to area of assignment within the Airport with an emphasis on customer experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Performs janitorial duties to maintain the Airport facilities. Cleans floors and carpeting; washes interior and exterior windows and interior and exterior glass doors; sanitizes all rest rooms; picks up and removes trash; cleans furniture; dusts all surfaces high and low; washes walls and pressure wash sidewalks on a weekly basis. Performs outdoor cleanup tasks on airport property including vehicle parking areas;

right-of-way on airport roads, terminal and building grounds. Performs minor building maintenance as required. Provides customer service duties such as answering questions, giving directions, and planning work around busy times to improve the customer experience. Regularly monitor and respond to email communications. Remove snow from sidewalks; sand walks when icy conditions occur; monitor icy and unsafe road condition at the terminal and reports conditions to supervisor;

and sweep walks after storms. Performs all other works as required.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Mandatory Requirements:

One (1) year of experience in custodian work, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job. Knowledge of supplies, materials, and equipment used in custodial maintenance. Knowledge of practices and methods in custodial maintenance.

Background Check:
Employment with the Airport is contingent upon an education/experience background investigation, a fingerprint-based criminal history record check processed by the FBI, and upon the ability to be granted a security badge as mandated by the Transportation Security Administration.

Special Requirements /Licenses:
Possession of a valid Colorado driver’s license.

Education:

High school diploma or GED desirable.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Work is performed individually or as part of a work team often without direct supervision after assignment of duties.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is not a supervisory position. Employee may assist in direction, guidance or training in operational procedures to other employees.
