Temporary Position (9 months or less) – $18–19.00 per hour
Employment starts 04/25/2026 and ends 10/31/2026.
Non‑Lead Inspector Responsibilities- Conduct boat inspections and decontamination at Kenney Reservoir, Rangely, Colorado.
- Work independently or in pairs to inspect boats launching and leaving the lake for invasive species such as zebra and quagga mussels.
- Provide public outreach on aquatic invasive species, distributing printed materials to lake visitors.
- Perform work during early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as required.
- Receive boat inspection training from the department.
- Lead the iceboat inspection and decontamination team, providing on‑the‑job training to staff.
- Create staff schedules and ensure all shifts are covered during operational hours.
- Maintain accurate time‑keeping records for payroll purposes.
- Track and maintain inventory of required supplies.
- Work with a supervisor to resolve staffing and customer challenges.
- Ensure adherence to standardized inspection protocols and accurate data entry by all staff.
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of the power washer/decontamination unit.
- Provide public outreach on aquatic invasive species.
- Work during early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as required.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to work weekends, holidays, early mornings, and late evenings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Dependable, timely, and self‑motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Experience working with boats, trailers, power washers, small engines, and/or heavy equipment.
- Excellent customer service skills and experience interacting with the public.
Any worker who will be expected to drive a State‑owned vehicle must maintain a safe driving record and a valid driver’s license prior to driving any State‑owned vehicle. Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) will be reviewed for employees who have an assigned State fleet vehicle, are required to operate a vehicle as part of the position, or use a State fleet vehicle as a pool vehicle.
