We design, manufacture, and service mission‑critical infrastructure technologies for vital applications in data centers, communication networks, and commercial and industrial environments.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESROLE SUMMARY
- Provide jobsite construction and technical leadership for large projects.
- Maintain knowledge of critical infrastructure equipment in data centers, including Vertiv‑manufactured equipment.
- Lead a multi‑disciplinary on‑site team consisting of Project Leaders, Installers, Technicians, Customer Engineers, and subcontractors.
- Represent Vertiv at daily customer meetings and communicate technical requirements to coordinate activity with other parties on‑site.
- Lead and support start‑up and site testing activities for assigned projects:
- Ensure sufficient manpower on‑site each day to perform start‑up and site testing work.
- Assist during start‑up and site testing as necessary, depending upon manpower availability and site location.
- Provide daily status reports to Service Management, Project Management, and sales representatives.
- Stay current on Vertiv equipment start‑up and commissioning processes, procedures, and tools of the trade.
- Maintain knowledge of Safety Bulletins, Safety Field Change Notices, Field Change Notices, and Service Tips.
- Lead daily Vertiv toolbox talk, pre‑job safety walk, and inspection; drive corrective/preventive actions timely.
- Adhere to and administer all site and Vertiv Safety policies on job sites.
- Operate in a safe manner according to published safety guidelines.
- Wear appropriate PPE as per company guidelines for job duties.
- Follow work hours policy guidelines – “14 hours rule.”
- Report all work‑related accidents or injuries within 24 hours to the appropriate personnel.
- Act as a role model for safety by setting a positive example.
- Use STOP WORK Authority, Good Catch engagement, and timely closure of necessary corrective/preventive actions.
- Ensure adherence to Vertiv Warranty process with the Project Manager.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting per guidelines (timecards, expense reports, mileage reports, SR/task closure, forms, etc.).
- Support the Project Manager with obtaining technical data for project systems.
- Maintain company property (credit cards, PPE, test equipment, laptop, smartphone, etc.) per company policies.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Align daily customer expectations with Vertiv activity; clarify or re‑align when needed.
- Maintain customer satisfaction rates per company guidelines.
- Make decisions based on Safety, Quality, Timeliness, Cost, Productivity in order of importance.
- Capable of making timely technical and commercial decisions under pressure.
- Maintain productive utilization rate per company guidelines.
- Adhere to dress code and safety regulations.
- Follow startup/escalation processes and procedures.
- Lead by example and conduct oneself in alignment with Vertiv Behaviors.
- Communicate across all levels within the organization.
- Handle stressful situations and provide a calming effect to customers.
- Demonstrate high diplomacy in interactions with internal and external customers.
- Experience:
- ASEET or ASMET preferred.
- Equivalent industry experience, specifically leading and actively participating in start‑up and commissioning of power and/or HVAC equipment.
- Six years military experience in a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial construction management.
