Custodian

Talascend is currently seeking a Custodian for a contract opportunity with our client in Ashburn, Virginia.

Overview

The main function of a custodian is to perform cleaning services and maintain the overall condition of the building/space.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning services per scope and follow SOPs where applicable.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and healthy facility by completing various tasks such as mopping and vacuuming floors, high and low dusting, deep cleaning and disinfecting of multiple surfaces and restrooms, and appropriate disposal of waste receptacles daily- including recyclables.
• Responsible for completing deep cleans, office restoration, and special projects requested by Supervisor and building managerial teams.
• Responsible for verifying that the proper chemicals are used for each designated area assigned.
• Responsible for organization and upkeep of janitor closets, supply storage, and cleaning equipment.
• Notifying Supervisor of occurring deficiencies, safety concerns, and need for repairs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical degree or certification preferred.
• 0-2 years experience required.

Requirements

• Interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to continuously stand and walk throughout workday.
• Skilled in using computer applications.
• Ability to read, write, and understand documentation in English.

Shift

Hours in summer is 6 to 2:30 but slightly change in fall. Monday - Friday.
