Join a team dedicated to supporting mission-critical infrastructure as a Switchgear Technician 4. In this advanced field service role, you will be responsible for the start-up, commissioning, repair, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of state-of-the-art electrical equipment. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in critical power environments, collaborating with sales, engineering, and project management teams to ensure the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

- Support pre-sales activities by reviewing technical specifications, submittal packages, and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with sales, project managers, engineering, and factory teams to define project scope and resolve technical issues.
- Attend factory witness testing and follow up on punch list items to ensure equipment readiness prior to shipment and installation.
- Lead installation efforts, including technical discussions, coordination with contractors and vendors, and providing job-specific technical support.
- Coordinate site testing, third-party labor, and test equipment as required.
- Develop and monitor project schedules, identify labor requirements, and report on project status and potential impacts.
- Ensure proper documentation and obtain customer acceptance at project completion.
- Conduct specialized commissioning and testing of systems, and provide training for customers and field engineers.
- Perform preventive maintenance and respond to service calls as needed.
- Travel up to 30% of the time to support regional projects and site visits.
- Communicate lessons learned and provide technical support to regional personnel as directed.
- Other duties as assigned by Field Service Management.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in electronics, electrical theory, or a related discipline highly desirable; equivalent work or military experience accepted.
- 7+ years of field repair or customer service experience with UPS, electrical, electro-mechanical, or electronics-related equipment, or equivalent military equipment experience required.
- 3-5 years of experience with mission-critical power systems and products.
- Experience with critical power equipment, including UPS, switch gear, PLCs, batteries, monitoring equipment, and generators.
- Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer relations skills.
- Experience in training, influencing, and motivating team members.
- Proficiency in technical writing, including reports and procedures (Word, Excel, MS Project).
- Experience with NETA and NICET testing standards.
- Ability to make independent decisions and work with minimal supervision.
- Valid state vehicle operator's license.
- US Citizenship required.
- NETA/NICET Level 2 or 3 certification preferred.
