Switchgear Technician 4

In this advanced field service role, you will be responsible for the start-up, commissioning, repair, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of state-of-the-art electrical equipment. • Support pre-sales activities by reviewing technical specifications, submittal packages, and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
• Collaborate with sales, project managers, engineering, and factory teams to define project scope and resolve technical issues.
• Attend factory witness testing and follow up on punch list items to ensure equipment readiness prior to shipment and installation.
• Lead installation efforts, including technical discussions, coordination with contractors and vendors, and providing job-specific technical support.
• Coordinate site testing, third-party labor, and test equipment as required.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, identify labor requirements, and report on project status and potential impacts.
• Ensure proper documentation and obtain customer acceptance at project completion.
• Conduct specialized commissioning and testing of systems, and provide training for customers and field engineers.
• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to service calls as needed.
• Travel up to 30% of the time to support regional projects and site visits.
• Communicate lessons learned and provide technical support to regional personnel as directed.
• Other duties as assigned by Field Service Management.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in electronics, electrical theory, or a related discipline highly desirable; equivalent work or military experience accepted.
• 7+ years of field repair or customer service experience with UPS, electrical, electro-mechanical, or electronics-related equipment, or equivalent military equipment experience required.
• 3-5 years of experience with mission-critical power systems and products.
• Experience with critical power equipment, including UPS, switch gear, PLCs, batteries, monitoring equipment, and generators.
• Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer relations skills.
• Experience in training, influencing, and motivating team members.
• Proficiency in technical writing, including reports and procedures (Word, Excel, MS Project).
• Experience with NETA and NICET testing standards.
• Ability to make independent decisions and work with minimal supervision.
• Valid state vehicle operator's license.
• US Citizenship required.
• NETA/NICET Level 2 or 3 certification preferred.
