Mountain Facility Manager

Reports to the Director of Properties while partnering closely with the Aspen Property Manager, family office staff, vendors, cleaners, contractors, mechanics, and trail crews to support mountain and in-town property operations.

A family is seeking a hands‑on Aspen Mountain Facilities Manager to support operations, maintenance, readiness, and field coordination across private mountain properties, while also assisting the Aspen Property Manager with facilities needs at the family’s Aspen town properties.

This role is intentionally broad and practical. The right candidate will be mechanically capable, physically capable, experienced in changing mountain conditions, and willing to move between equipment operation, snow access, property readiness, light repairs, vendor coordination, outdoor maintenance, and facilities support. Success requires someone flexible, versatile, service‑oriented, and open to doing work outside their normal scope when needed.

The portfolio may include remote cabins, winter‑access properties, side‑by‑sides, snowmobiles, snowcats, trucks, trails, outdoor amenities, high‑end town properties, and seasonal maintenance needs. The final scope, schedule, property count, and compensation structure are still being refined.

• Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of the family’s private properties. Conduct routine inspections and ensure buildings, utilities, exterior areas, and supporting infrastructure remain safe and operational.
• Maintain safe and reliable access to remote mountain properties throughout the year. Monitor roads and trails, coordinate snow and ice removal, respond to weather‑related conditions, and manage seasonal opening and closing activities.
• Complete property‑readiness walkthroughs before family and guest arrivals. Confirm that access, utilities, security, cleanliness, household supplies, linens, firewood, trash removal, and any requested setup have been fully addressed. After visits, coordinate cleaning, restocking, repairs, damage checks, and property reset so each location remains ready for future use.
• Step in where needed across field work, facilities, guest readiness, and general property support; the role is not limited to a narrow maintenance checklist.

• Support the Aspen Property Manager with town‑property walkthroughs, punch‑list items, minor repairs, deliveries, furniture moves, exterior cleanup, outdoor amenity care, seasonal work, and urgent facilities issues.
• Perform practical maintenance where appropriate, including basic carpentry, door and hardware adjustments, furniture assembly, hanging hooks or shelves, basic plumbing troubleshooting, bulb and fixture replacement, appliance troubleshooting, deck or fence repairs, tool organization, and general punch‑list work.
• Monitor property systems such as hauled water or wells, cisterns, pumps, filters, pressure tanks, propane, solar, batteries, generators, septic systems, freeze protection, hot tubs, irrigation, and backup power; coordinate specialists when needed and maintain simple operating notes.
• Maintain outdoor amenities and exterior areas, including hot tub care, water testing, power washing, outdoor furniture setup and storage, firewood organization, trash and debris removal, light landscaping, trail touch‑ups, and annual maintenance items.
• Identify problems early and either resolve them directly or elevate them promptly with clear documentation and practical recommendations.

• Safely operate and maintain side‑by‑sides, snowcats, snowmobiles, ATVs, trucks, trailers, chainsaws, small equipment, tools, and other property vehicles as required.
• Track fuel, batteries, service needs, maintenance intervals, safety concerns, seasonal preparation, and storage conditions so vehicles and equipment remain staged and ready for use.
• Develop and maintain a reliable network of qualified vendors, contractors, cleaners, trades, mechanics, and mountain‑service providers.
