Maintenance Supervisor

The City of Atascadero is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead daily maintenance operations for city facilities, parks, and public spaces. This role oversees a team of maintenance staff, coordinates preventive and corrective work, and ensures assets are safe, reliable, and compliant with regulations. The Maintenance Supervisor plans schedules, manages work orders, and collaborates with Public Works and other departments on projects that support community services.

Responsibilities include vendor coordination, budgeting support, safety program implementation, and staff training. This position offers the opportunity to directly support quality of life for residents in a collaborative, service-oriented municipal environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and schedule maintenance staff for city facilities and infrastructure
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for buildings, parks, and public spaces
• Inspect facilities and equipment to ensure safety, code compliance, and reliability
• Prioritize and assign work orders, tracking progress and completion
• Manage maintenance budgets, supplies, and vendor/contractor services
• Develop and implement maintenance procedures and safety protocols
• Collaborate with Public Works and other departments on capital and repair projects
• Train, coach, and evaluate maintenance personnel
• Respond to urgent maintenance issues and service requests
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, assets, and inspections
