Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience
Position SummaryResponsibilities include sweeping, dust mopping, wet mopping of floors, high and low dusting. Use of small custodial equipment such as vacuum cleaners, wet/dry vacuum, T‑1 scrubber, and other machines that do not require extensive training. Cleaning windows, seals, walls, furniture, and other equipment, collecting and removing trash and recyclables, securing and unlocking buildings, assisting with delivery/receiving of supplies. Cleaning, sanitizing surfaces;
cleaning classrooms, restrooms, offices, breakrooms, recreational and fitness buildings, labs, clinics, etc. Maintaining supplies, performing bodily fluid clean-up or specialized viral/bacterial disinfection with blood borne pathogen kit, performing minor light bulb replacement from an 8’ ladder. Additionally, perform floor care with specialized equipment: carpet cleaning and extraction, strip/wax/burnish floors, refinish wood floors. Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of equipment. Conduct building walk‑through inspections weekly, assist with equipment inspections, and submit inspection reports.
- Perform floor care with large floor care equipment: carpet cleaning and extraction, strip/wax/burnish floors, refinish wood floors.
- Operate equipment safely and keep it maintained.
- Conduct walk‑through inspections weekly, assist with equipment inspections, and submit inspection reports.
- Sweep, dust, wash, wet/dry mop, light floor maintenance, vacuum, and perform other duties to maintain cleanliness.
- Collect and remove trash and recyclables, clean and disinfect counters, restroom fixtures, equipment, furnishings in labs, offices, classrooms, restrooms, clinics, recreational facilities.
- Perform bodily fluid clean‑up or specialized viral/bacterial disinfection.
- Perform minor light bulb replacement from an 8’ ladder.
- Clean and restock restrooms and ensure adequate supplies.
- Lift up to 40 lbs.
- Push and pull custodial carts up to 40 lbs.
- Load and unload floor care machines up to 40 lbs.
- Frequently bend, squat, lift, kneel, and work with hands above head.
- Prolonged walking to and from buildings.
- Move throughout buildings including climbing stairs and riding elevators.
- Work from 8 ft ladders.
- Effective communication and working relationships.
- Available to work specified shift.
- Available to work nights and weekends as needed.
