Employee (Full Time) - Salary: $16.587 per hour (commensurate with experience)
- Schedule:
40.0 hours per week, Sunday – Saturday. Flexible schedule required to cover 6:30am – 3pm; 9am-5:30pm; 11am-7:30pm; 2pm-10:30pm. Must be able to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays. May be required to work when the University is closed or to work overtime as business demands.
Position Summary
Clean and maintain good presentation of all the restrooms, lobbies, hallways and stairs of the Georgia Center plus other additional duties related to the cleaning of the offices. This work could involve unexpected duties such as custodial, linen services, and laundry tasks or public area duties in emergency situations or shortage of staff.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning & Maintenance (30%): Clean and maintain all public restrooms to the expected standards.
- Vacuuming & Sweeping (25%): Vacuum all lobbies, hallways, entrances daily; vacuum offices at least once a week.
- Trash & Debris Removal (20%): Daily pick‑up of trash in lobbies, hallways, entrances, and offices.
- Dusting & Window Cleaning (15%): Dust window frames, doors, pictures, tables, etc.; clean all glass windows from inside the buildings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hotel cleaning or custodial experience
- Customer service/guest interaction experience
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Evaluation of education/experience may satisfy minimum requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledgeable with use of cleaning products
- Know how to use a vacuum cleaner
- Strong attention to detail and presentation
- Strong work ethic and good values and principles desirable
Physical Demands
Pull, move, lift or roll at least 40 lbs.; work with hands and reach above head; bend at the waist, kneel, and crouch; stand and walk for long periods of time.
