Job Description

An HVAC Duct Cleaner is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the ductwork and ventilation systems. The primary goal is to ensure the cleanliness and efficiency of these systems, contributing to improved indoor air quality and energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Duct Inspection: HVAC Duct Cleaners inspect ductwork and ventilation systems to assess their cleanliness, condition, and potential issues. They may use tools such as cameras and scopes to identify dirt, debris, mold, and other contaminants.
  • Cleaning Procedures:
    Using specialized equipment, HVAC Duct Cleaners remove dust, dirt, pollen, mold, and other pollutants from ducts, vents, and HVAC components. This can involve techniques such as vacuuming, brushing, air sweeping, and agitation.
  • System Disassembly:
    In some cases, HVAC Duct Cleaners may need to disassemble certain parts of the HVAC system, such as grilles, registers, and access panels, to access and clean the interior components effectively.
  • Equipment Maintenance: HVAC Duct Cleaners are responsible for maintaining and cleaning their equipment to ensure it functions effectively and to prevent cross-contamination between jobs.
  • Customer Interaction: HVAC Duct Cleaners may interact with clients to explain the cleaning process, discuss findings, and offer advice on maintenance and future cleaning schedules.
  • Compliance with Regulations: HVAC Duct Cleaners follow industry standards and regulations related to indoor air quality, safety, and hygiene practices. They may also adhere to environmental regulations when disposing of waste materials.
  • Qualifications and Skills
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
