Job Summary
:
The Building Services Worker I is responsible for sweeping, dusting, mopping, and maintaining cleanliness of campus floors, classrooms, laboratories, offices, and other facilities. Duties also include cleaning windows, walls, furniture, and fixtures; collecting and disposing trash and recyclables; maintaining restrooms; performing light bulb replacement and basic maintenance; and handling bodily fluid cleanup using blood borne pathogen kit when required.

• Sweep, dust, wash, wet/dry mop, light floor maintenance and vacuum to maintain campus floor cleanliness.
• Collect and remove trash and recyclables; clean and disinfect counters, restroom fixtures, equipment, and furnishings in various work areas.
• Clean and restock restrooms; ensure restock items are in janitorial closets.
• Clean up bodily fluids or perform specialized viral/bacterial disinfection with a blood borne pathogen kit.
• Replace light bulbs not more than 8' from floor on ladder.
• Perform additional duties as required related to cleaning and maintenance.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Available to work the specified shift, including Saturdays, Sundays, or after hours as needed.
• Effective communication and working relationship skills.

• Lift up to 40 lbs.
• Push or pull custodial carts up to 40 lbs.
• Frequently bend, squat, lift, kneel, and work with hands above head.
• Work from up to 8' ladder.
• Prolonged walking between buildings.
• Climb stairs and use elevators as required.

Posting Salary: $34,500.00 per year. Full-time employee with benefits eligibility. Retirement plan: TRS.
