** Position Requirements** :

* Education:

** High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or associate degree in HVAC/R or a related field preferred.

* Experience:

** Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a maintenance field required

+ Basic knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry).

+ Ability to use hand and power tools safely

+ Strong customer service skills when interacting with hospital staff

+ Ability to lift and move equipment up to typical maintenance standards

+ Willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends or on‑call as needed

** Position Purpose to Demonstrate:*
* + Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic HVAC/R systems

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, schematics, and regulatory documents.

+ Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.

+ Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to interact professionally with hospital staff, patients, and vendors.

+ Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or adverse conditions.

* Key Responsibilities:

* + Perform routine preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and fixtures (lighting, doors, plumbing, HVAC filters, etc.).

+ Respond to basic maintenance requests from clinical and non-clinical departments in a timely manner.

+ Assist senior mechanics with more complex repairs involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and medical support systems.

+ Conduct minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs, repairing wall fixtures, tightening hardware, and patching small surfaces.

+ Inspect equipment and facilities to identify potential safety hazards or maintenance needs.

+ Document all work performed in the hospital's maintenance management system.

+ Follow hospital safety protocols, including infection control, PPE use, and regulatory compliance.

+ Support emergency response efforts such as power outages, equipment failures, or facility incidents.

+ Maintain tools and work areas in clean, safe, and organized conditions.
