The work model for the role is onsite.
In this role, you will support the business in achieving customer needs by adhering to ABB systems, processes, and procedures. Each day you will use machinery and equipment inside and outside the plant, reading and interpreting technical diagrams and instructions to perform maintenance on products, systems, panels, exterior and interior facilities, and more.
Primary ResponsibilitiesWorking as part of the Athens Plant Maintenance Team to perform preventive and corrective maintenance and maintaining exterior and interior facilities, while displaying computer and maintenance technology proficiency.
- Demonstrate a high level of mechanical skills and self‑motivation.
- Understand verbal and written technical instructions and respond in English.
- Respond to plant emergencies and breakdowns.
- Report daily to your supervisor and/or team.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other internal documentation in hard copy or electronic formats.
- Work safely in an industrial manufacturing setting, including shift and weekend work as required.
- Adhere to attendance and punctuality standards.
- Operate overhead crane/hoist systems.
- Interpret and follow manuals to maintain equipment in English.
- Demonstrate required proficiency (80%) on grade‑progression checklists.
- Follow lock‑out/tag‑out and all other safety procedures.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
Conform to ABB policies and procedures. Perform housekeeping and exterior and interior facility maintenance. Train, share knowledge, and information with coworkers. Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical RequirementsUse company‑designated personal protective equipment; have visual acuity (corrected) to read directions, prints and gauges; bend, stoop, twist and lift frequently; stand for extended periods; work in the interior and exterior manufacturing factory environment; perform highly repetitive tasks.
Education RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED). Computer and maintenance technology proficiency. Technical school training is preferred. Basic computer skills as defined by ABB. Maintenance experience and/or certification. Athens Plant Maintenance Exam.
