In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the business in achieving customer needs by adhering to the ABB systems, processes, and procedures. Each day, you will use machinery and equipment inside and outside the plant. You will also showcase your expertise by reading and interpreting the technical diagrams/instructions to perform maintenance on products, systems, panels, exterior and interior facilities, and much more.
Your role and responsibilities:Working as a part of the Athens Plant Maintenance Team to perform preventative and corrective maintenance and maintaining exterior and interior facilities. Displaying and maintaining computer and maintenance technology proficiency.
- Demonstrate a high level of mechanical skills and self-motivation.
- Ability to receive and understand verbal and written technical instructions and respond in English.
- Responding to plant emergencies/breakdowns.
- Daily reporting to your supervisor and/or team.
- The ability to read and interpret information from blueprints, schematics, and other internal documentation in hard copy or electronic formats.
- Function safely in an industrial manufacturing setting where factory physical conditions exist, including shift and weekend work as required.
- Able to interpret and follow manuals as necessary to maintain equipment in English.
- Demonstrate required proficiency (80%) on grade progression checklists exhibiting knowledge and competency within the role.
Conform to policies and procedures as an ABB employee. Perform housekeeping and exterior and interior facility maintenance, and other duties as required. Train, share knowledge & information with coworkers. Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
Physical Requirements:The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. close to the body and 35 lbs. away from the body 60% of the time. More than 50 lbs. 40% of the time with assistance. The ability and willingness to use the company designated personal protective equipment. Visual acuity (corrected) to read directions, prints and gauges. Frequent bending, stooping, twisting and lifting (assisted and unassisted).
Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to work in the interior and exterior manufacturing factory environment (concrete floor, heat, cold, noise, allergies, etc.). Ability to perform highly physical tasks.
High School diploma or equivalent (GED). Computer and maintenance technology proficiency. Address and function with basic computer skills as defined by the company. 1+ Years of Maintenance experience and/or certification. Athens Plant Maintenance Exam
Preferred Qualifications:Technical school training is preferred.
