Overview
The Field Service Technician is a core member of the Service Department responsible for completing repairs on the Stirling Ultracold product portfolio and delivering training to service providers and customers. The technician will have heavy communication and collaboration with the Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams.
Responsibilities- Performs field-based diagnostics and troubleshooting on Stirling Ultracold freezers.
- Performs timely and thorough field repairs on all models of Stirling freezers.
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with service support representatives.
- After repair completion, provides job specifics to the Ultra
CARE workload SharePoint site. - Manages repair depot equipment and inventory.
- Records all business-related travel and supply expenses.
- Collaborate and train Independent Service Providers.
- Represents Stirling Ultracold professionally on service calls to customer sites.
- Maintains professional communication with customers and laboratory staff.

- Must have very strong customer relations and communication skills (phone, email, and face-to-face).
- Deep technical knowledge of Stirling’s product line(s).
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Apps.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems on refrigeration-type products.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
- Ability to maintain focus and composure in difficult situations.
- Ability to interact with other team members in cooperative working relationships.
- Physical ability to walk, sit, and lift 50 pounds.
- High School Diploma/GED
- 5 years of service experience
- Available to travel (approximately 80-90% of the time)
- Experience with HVAC, cryogenic, or other refrigeration repair and/or technical support preferred
- Experience with escalation protocols for critical customer issues preferred
