Under close direction from storekeeper, or supervision by food service management, receives, stores and distributes supplies and equipment.

1. Adheres to all osha and/or ohio university required safety guidelines.

2. Receives shipments, unloads stock and checks for correct quantity and condition; stores, issues and may deliver supplies and equipment; may be responsible for laundry; assists in maintenance of perpetual inventory control; maintains all related records; answers phone.

3. Maintains clean and orderly storeroom, refrigerators and freezers. Reports accidents and malfunctioning equipment.

4. Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum qualifications

* knowledge of proper storage and food handling techniques;

* ability to carry out simple instructions in written, oral, and pictorial form;

* ability to work independently or with others;

* willingness to foster a welcoming and respectful workforce and community

* ability to read & write common vocabulary in sentence structure;

* ability to add, subtract, multiply & divide whole numbers, calculate fractions, decimals & percentages;

* ability to apply principles to solve practical problems;

* knowledge of all applicable osha and/or ohio university safety guidelines and procedures;

* ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (occasional stock weight 60-80 lbs.);

* successful completion of a test may be required;

* valid driver's license;

* may be exposed to extreme temperatures, prolonged standing (8 hours/day), heights.

* established pattern of good work habits and performance with good interpersonal skills.

Preferred qualifications

Knowledge of inventory control and safety practices

Working conditions/physical demands department culinary services pay rate

Afscme pay range i 04 i: $20.54 - $23.18
