  • Purpose of the Job:
  • To serve Life Fellowship with the responsibility for the appearance, maintenance, and organization of the building and grounds, as well as the overall cleanliness of Life Fellowship.
  • Experience and Knowledge

    Required:
    • Proficient in basic cleaning practices
    • Experience and knowledge of mixing certain cleaning chemicals and using those solutions to clean
    • Prior cleaning experience preferred.
  • Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
    • Ability to work under pressure (time constraints, changes in plans, etc.) and adapt to changes
    • Willingness to continually learn
    • Ability to work without supervision and complete assigned tasks
    • Possess communication skills and be a strong team player with all pastoral and support staff
    • Complete (check off, date and sign) the cleaning checklist provided each workday
    • Ability to interact with church staff and visitors in a respectful, positive manner.
  • General Expectations and Responsibilities:
    • Work hours:

      General hours MWF 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.
    • Work hours are subject to change depending on scheduled events.
    • Janitorial often represents the church, so great care should be taken to maintain a positive, professional appearance in all circumstances.
    • Cleaning of buildings in a timely manner so as to be ready for any and all uses. Schedule of daily cleaning to be assigned by the supervisor.
    • Accommodate special events as needed.
    • Strong communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills.
    • Flexibility to adjust their schedule to suit the needs of the church.
    • Motivation to work independently or with others to provide thorough, efficient custodial services to the church.
    • Perform other duties as assigned when needed.

  • Physical Demands:
    • Requires the ability to move, lift and push up to 40 lbs.
    • Requires constant standing and bending
  • Housekeeping/Janitorial team members will first meet with the Facility Manager 30, 60, and 90 days after hire, and then quarterly to review goals, set expectations, evaluate performance, and suggest ways to improve.
