We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee advanced accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting for one of our clients in Midtown Atlanta. This position plays a critical role in managing general ledger activities, trust accounting, fixed assets, and compliance processes. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment where technology and automation continue to shape workflows.
Base pay range$85,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr
Core Responsibilities- Prepare and submit unclaimed property filings and manage escheatment claims.
- Process weekly funding for self-insurance programs via ACH and wire transfers.
- Generate daily cash position reports and reconcile vendor deposits.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of 1099 forms in accordance with IRS guidelines.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset ledger, including additions, disposals, and related journal entries.
- Produce monthly and quarterly financial reports for leadership, including reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Assemble partner reporting packages with proper formatting and sequencing.
- Monitor trust account balances and coordinate with attorneys for required actions.
- Manage incoming credit remittance inquiries and post cash transactions.
- Oversee state and local tax compliance and reporting obligations.
- Review foreign currency transactions and assist with special projects as needed.
- Collaborate with the Controller and cross-functional teams on audits, tax filings, and internal reporting.
- Support internal control improvements and ensure compliance with established policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience; prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and internal control frameworks.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and ability to work with large data sets.
- Familiarity with accounting systems and aptitude for learning new technologies quickly.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives.
