Our Atlanta office is seeking a Property Accountant to handle day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of commercial properties, providing the highest level of client service. This position is geared towards a candidate with one to three years of experience in commercial real estate accounting. This is a hybrid position. Responsibilities- Full cycle accounting for commercial real estate assets on a cash basis and accrual.
- Work with property managers, leasing agents, and third-party owners to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Accurate month-end closing, including general ledger entries and review, bank reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Monitor bank account balances, record cash transactions, and reconcile bank accounts.
- Prepare monthly cash analysis based on the owner's requirements.
- Tenant and vendor ledger administration, including occasional reconciliations and analysis whenever discrepancies arise.
- Ensure critical payments are paid on time each month.
- Attend and participate in weekly team meetings.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
- A four-year degree from a college or university is required.
- Proficiency with MRI, preferred.
- Experience with Yardi and AVID is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
- Experience in commercial property management accounting is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and critical thinking.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
