We are a full-service commercial real estate firm headquartered in downtown Charlotte, with offices in Raleigh, Greenville, SC, Columbia, SC, and Atlanta, GA. Our Atlanta office is seeking a Property Accountant to handle day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of commercial properties, providing the highest level of client service. This position is geared towards a candidate with one to three years of experience in commercial real estate accounting. This is a hybrid position. Responsibilities
  • Full cycle accounting for commercial real estate assets on a cash basis and accrual.
  • Work with property managers, leasing agents, and third-party owners to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Accurate month-end closing, including general ledger entries and review, bank reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Monitor bank account balances, record cash transactions, and reconcile bank accounts.
  • Prepare monthly cash analysis based on the owner's requirements.
  • Tenant and vendor ledger administration, including occasional reconciliations and analysis whenever discrepancies arise.
  • Ensure critical payments are paid on time each month.
  • Attend and participate in weekly team meetings.
  • Handle other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • A four-year degree from a college or university is required.
  • Proficiency with MRI, preferred.
  • Experience with Yardi and AVID is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Experience in commercial property management accounting is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and critical thinking.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
