The Accounting Manager plays a key role in shaping our financial operations by leading financial statement analysis and reporting, managing month-end closings, ensuring tax compliance, and supporting audits. In addition, this role drives process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and accuracy across the organization. This position is based at our Marietta, GA headquarters and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our financial success.
Responsibilities- You will perform monthly close and year-end responsibilities by completing timely journal entries and reconciliation of all financial states.
- You will be responsible for the monthly balance sheet and cash reconciliations by reviewing the balance sheet and reconciling all cash for all accounts with discrepancies documented and resolved.
- You will manage AR customer invoices and payment applications and ensure an accurate AR ledger is reported and payments are applied timely for the gaining report to be submitted to management.
- You will approve all invoices entered to the AP system with payments processed according to the schedule with supporting documentation maintained.
- You will manage accurate reporting for project accounting standards.
- You will assist with the actual vs budget fluctuations and financial analysis by providing monthly variance analysis and highlighting differences between actuals and budgets with commentary and recommendations for management.
- You will assist project teams and other departments with any accounting-related questions or needs by providing timely responses to inquiries and providing guidance and solutions to problems.
- You will manage the allocation of payroll, expense reports and other corporate expenses by making sure this is correctly reflected in the accounting system with supporting documentation retained.
- You will maintain weekly cash flow reports, confirm AP runs and reconcile bank accounts with variances documented.
- You have knowledge of construction accounting
- You have knowledge of the Acumatica software, ERP and or accounting software expertise is strongly preferred.
- You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- You have high attention to detail.
- You have strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- You have advanced excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros and financial modeling.
- You have experience in identifying inefficiencies, recommending solutions and implementing improvements.
- You have the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and accounting projects simultaneously
- You have strong decision-making and trouble shooting skills in complex financial situations.
- You have experience guiding junior accountants, reviewing work, and providing training.
- You have an understanding of tax regulations, audit requirements and internal control standards as well as able to adapt quickly to changes in the accounting standards, software, or company processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 5-8 years accounting experience
- CPA or Audit background preferred
- Accounting construction background is a plus
