We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Staff Accountant to join our team in Atlanta, GA. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will also assist with journal entry preparation, variance analysis, and ongoing process improvements to ensure accurate and timely financial results. This is a full-time, on-site position offering competitive compensation and benefits.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and proper supporting documentation.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close, including accruals, prepaid schedules, and financial statement preparation.
- Analyze budget-to-actual variances and provide explanations to management.
- Maintain organized financial records and support internal and external audit requests.
- Assist with process improvements, system updates, and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, or similar).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
