The Opportunity We’re looking for an exceptional controller to lead our accounting and admin function as the company continues to scale. Reporting to the CFO, this role will oversee all core accounting activities including financial reporting, the monthly close, billing and revenue recognition, collections, payables, and year‑end audit management.The controller will also play an important role in strengthening accounting processes, continued automation in Net Suite, and supporting the continued growth of the business.
This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader who enjoys improving processes, maintaining strong financial discipline, and developing a high‑performing accounting team. This position reports to the CFO and collaborates closely with leaders across FAS.
What You’ll Do- Accounting Leadership:
Lead and develop the accounting team, including Staff Accountant and Payroll & HR Specialist. Build a high‑performing team through mentorship, clear accountability, and a culture of ownership and continuous improvement. - Financial Reporting & Close:
Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process. Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and maintain the integrity of the general ledger and financial statements within Net Suite. - Revenue Recognition:
Oversee revenue recognition for billable time, fixed‑fee, and subscription/managed services in accordance with ASC 606. Partner closely with Sales and Operations to ensure accurate contract interpretation, performance obligation assessment, billing alignment, and compliant revenue recognition and reporting. - Audit Leadership:
Lead the annual financial statement audit and help CFO coordinate with external auditors. Maintain audit readiness year‑round through strong documentation, reconciliations, and internal control processes. - Accounting Operations:
Oversee core accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets. Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and efficiently. - Systems &
Infrastructure: Own the accounting systems environment including Net Suite, Concur, and Bamboo
HR. Identify opportunities to improve reporting, automate processes, and strengthen system integrations as the business scales. - Internal Controls:
Establish and maintain a strong internal control framework. Document key accounting policies and processes to ensure consistency, compliance, and scalability. - Process Improvement:
Continuously evaluate reporting workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Certification: CPA strongly preferred.
- 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- 2+ years of experience leading and developing accounting teams while building scalable processes and strong operational discipline.
- Experience in professional services, consulting, or technology firms is a plus.
- Strong technology skills, including prior Net Suite experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – a leader who can build relationships, represent FAS in front of clients, and problem‑solve with confidence.
