Freeman Mathis and Gary, LLP is a rapidly growing, national specialty litigation firm seeking an Retainer Specialist to join our Atlanta office. The Retainer Specialist role will be responsible for the tracking and collection of client retainers. The position prepares and maintains financial records to track the organization’s retainers and ensures timely accountability of the process.

- Perform basic accounting processes and review account activity
- Reconciliation of client‑matters
- Manage and Monitor Trust account activity including issuing settlement checks, refund trust, unapplied cash, and retainers
- Prepare regular and ad hoc monthly reports
- Stay up to date on AR processes
- Communicates updates on retainers to the Client Funds Manager, attorneys, and clients
- Serves as the point person for retainers
- Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelors’ Degree preferred (Business, Accounting, or Finance)
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word & Outlook. One Drive, Teams & SharePoint are highly desirable
- Law Firm experience a plus, working knowledge of the legal collections processes preferred
- Works accurately and displays a high attention to detail
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and adherence to high level of security standards
