Tax Bookkeeping Specialist

Overview

Baker Tilly is a leading advisory, tax and assurance firm with a global reach. This role joins the rapidly growing tax practice, supporting small and mid‑size business clients with high quality bookkeeping services.

• Work closely with multiple small and mid‑size business clients, providing bookkeeping services.
• Reconcile bank statements and other balance sheet accounts.
• Enter adjusting journal entries.
• Clean up client accounts in preparation of the tax return.
• Provide reports to clients and the tax preparation team.
• Collaborate with clients and respond to client requests and inquiries.
• Onboard and set up bookkeeping accounts in Quick Books Online.
• Assist the tax team with year‑end reporting of 1099s.
• Handle special projects as needed.
• Participate in ongoing education and training to grow professional skills.
• Network and build strong internal and external client relationships.
• Support team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy.
• Engage in social activities and team outings to support work‑life balance.

• Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 0 to 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
• Proficiency in Quick Books Online and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• An understanding of professional services and client service.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an approachable and professional demeanor.
• High attention to detail, problem‑solving, and intellectual curiosity.
• Adherence to the highest level of confidentiality.
• Enjoyment of interacting with clients and providing exceptional service.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.

Pay ranges vary by location:
Atlanta, GA – $22.50 to $33.00 per hour;
Tampa, FL – $20.44 to $30.00 per hour. Baker Tilly offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to eligible employees.
