Summary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for providing relevant, timely and accurate financial data to support the Accounting Department’s key initiatives and deadlines. This position focuses on input, preparation, and reconciliation of financial statement accounts to achieve an efficient and accurate month‑end close.
Responsibilities- Record journal entries in the accounting system and ensure appropriate supporting documents are provided.
- Assist with the month‑end close process.
- Manage and record cash transactions through the cash module.
- Collaborate with the accounts payable and accounts receivable teams as needed.
- Analyze accounting results, investigate variances, and document findings.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist in gathering information for audit preparation.
- Complete ad hoc and special projects as requested.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited university.
- Detail‑oriented, with strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated success in quickly learning new systems and tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, contributing to a strong team environment.
- Intermediate proficiency with Excel (V‑lookups, pivot tables, etc.).
- Basic understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting practices and procedures.
- Experience working with a large ERP system (SAP, Net Suite, Workday a plus).
- Embraces change with a positive attitude and actively contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.
