Tax Manager - Public Accounting

Summary

Tax Manager will work directly with all firm Partners on client income tax matters.

• Review complex federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, businesses, and entities to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Work closely with firm partners and staff, taking responsibility for planning, supervising, reviewing, and completing client engagements
• Manage all client tax compliance needs, anticipate tax and business issues, and recognize tax planning opportunities
• Direct, coordinate, schedule, and exercise functional authority for planning, organizing, coordinating, and interfacing with clients to ensure all deadlines are met
• Handle complex tax notices, audits, and correspondence with government agencies
• Supervise, train, and mentor tax and accounting staff, including reviewing work papers, providing feedback, and managing team workflow
• Remain up-to-date with current tax laws and regulations, conducting research to resolve complex tax issues

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field. Master’s degree in Taxation preferred
• Active CPA certification required
• 5-10 years of relevant income tax experience in a public accounting or financial services environment
• Experience using Ultra Tax CS for tax preparation a plus
