Senior Cost Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Cost Accountant with 5+ years of experience to join our finance team in Atlanta. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, analyzing, and managing cost accounting functions, supporting operational efficiency, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role requires strong analytical skills, ERP system experience, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with operations and leadership teams.

• Prepare and analyze monthly cost reports, variance analysis, and inventory reconciliations
• Maintain and update standard costs; conduct regular cost roll-ups
• Analyze manufacturing or service costs and recommend cost-saving initiatives
• Oversee inventory accounting, including cycle counts and physical inventory processes
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to cost accounting
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
• Partner with operations to improve cost efficiency and profitability
• Support external audits and provide required documentation

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of cost accounting experience (manufacturing experience preferred)
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory management
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, or similar)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• CPA or CMA certification preferred
• Competitive salary (commensurate with experience; Atlanta market range typically $80,000–$110,000+ annually depending on industry)
