Job Title: Accts Receivable Specialist II
Location: Atlanta, GA
Job Description:
Monitors records of amounts due to the company and ensures prompt receipt of payments. Processes and verifies new client set up, posting of client payments, client billing adjustments, and issuance of checks for over payment. Prepares and maintains accounts receivable register and other related accounting reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process client invoices during month-end cycles and review billing for accuracy
- Post client payments and reconcile accounts receivable balances
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and client inquiries
- Process billing adjustments, refunds, and over payment checks
- Set up new client accounts and process credit applications
- Maintain AR registers and generate related financial reports
- Enter and manage data within the billing system
- Proactively follow up with clients regarding outstanding payments
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED (additional certification in accounting or finance preferred)
- 2–5 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or a related accounting function
Role Scope & Impact:
- Fully functional support role handling most standard AR processes
- Contributes to departmental efficiency with moderate operational impact
Problem Solving & Autonomy:
- Identifies routine issues and resolves them independently
- Escalates complex or non-standard issues to management
- Works under general supervision with adherence to established policies and procedures
Knowledge & Skills:
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and AR processes
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to learn and apply new systems, tools, and procedures quickly
