Atrium is seeking on behalf of our client a Payroll Specialist to be responsible for managing accurate and timely payroll processing across multiple states. This role ensures compliance with payroll regulations and supports system administration for Dayforce.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities
  • Process weekly and biweekly multi-state payroll accurately and on schedule.
  • Serve as the primary resource for Dayforce payroll administration, troubleshooting, and user support.
  • Maintain payroll system configurations, including tax settings, pay rules, deductions, and accruals.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and IT teams to ensure payroll compliance and system accuracy.
  • Monitor payroll regulations and assist with maintaining compliance across all jurisdictions.
  • Review payroll reports, research discrepancies, and support process improvement initiatives.
Required Experience/Skills
  • 3+ years of experience processing payroll from start to finish in a multi-state environment.
  • Working knowledge of payroll taxes, wage and hour regulations, garnishments, and employee deductions.
  • Experience with Dayforce or a comparable payroll platform.
Preferred Experience /Skills
  • Experience supporting payroll audits and compliance reviews.
  • Familiarity with payroll reporting and analytics tools.
Education Requirements
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resources is a plus.
  • Payroll certification (CPP or FPC) highly desirable.
  • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
