Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.
Performs tax computations for the most complex and complicated accounting, auditing and procedural issues within the Business Division. Resolves issues such as complex depreciation, carry back/carry forward, foreign tax credit, complex restricted interest computations, valuation and cost analysis, and change of accounting methods or various interest computations.
Serves as a technical expert on issues that impact specified tax computations, i.e., Alternative minimum tax, Passive activity losses, etc.
Advises and assists management in developing and implementing new and/or improved auditing techniques, and assists in implementing administrative and procedural guidelines for tax computations.
Advises and assists examiners with tax and interest computations for cases not susceptible to standard practices.
