Regional Accounting Services Specialist

Job Overview

Serves as a technical and administrative resource to the Adult Rehabilitation Centers providing direct service for all accounting functions. The role includes leading, monitoring, evaluating, and providing direct service to assigned Adult Rehabilitation Centers operations. Responsibilities cover accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliation, cash and checkbook accounts, balance sheets, income and expense accounts, fund balancing and testing, and general data entry functions.

The incumbent ensures all assigned accounts are maintained in compliance with Command standards and established deadlines, prepares financial and special reports, and ensures their accuracy and completeness. Additionally, the employee provides timely and accurate support to Center Administrators and accounting staff for fiscal management and financial decisions.

• Lead, monitor, and evaluate accounting operations for Adult Rehabilitation Centers.
• Prepare and automate accounting reports using financial computer software packages.
• Maintain compliance with Command standards and deadlines for all assigned accounts.
• Provide general data entry, balance sheet, and income/expense account support.
• Train new accounting staff and provide daily support to on‑site Center accounting teams.
• Serve as a member of the Cash Register Support Team to ensure accurate and uninterrupted Thrift Store sales.
• Provide technical support for cash register hardware and software issues, including programming, polling, Internet modems, internet services, cabling, phone lines, and other hardware or software issues.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, computer science, or a related field.
• Five (5) years of experience preparing and automating progressively responsible accounting reports with extensive experience utilizing a variety of financial computer software packages, or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
