Job SummaryThe Accountant – Advanced Professional is responsible for overseeing accounting functions, analysis and reconciliation of financial transactions; examination, investigation, audit and review of records, reports, financial statements, information systems, and management practices to ensure compliance with regulations and policies and efficient and effective operations. This role is critical in developing and implementing procedures to ensure uniform accounting practices, internal controls, and compliance with federal, state, local regulations and Institute policies.
Responsibilities- Compile and verify the accuracy and validity of complex accounting transactions, often requiring in‑depth analysis and resolution.
- Prepare reconciliations of a variety of financial data.
- Post and/or review postings of transactions to appropriate accounts.
- Prepare and review financial schedules and reports.
- Maintain financial records.
- Prepare budget revisions, as needed.
- May provide explanations and/or work direction to other accountants and clerical personnel regarding more complex assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience
Three years of job‑related experience.

- Anticipated salary rate: $49,308 to $71,170 per year commensurate with qualifications.
- This is a limited‑term position and is subject to the availability of funding thereafter. All employment and assignments are ultimately contingent upon available funding, business needs, and your performance of the assignment. Georgia Tech retains the right to terminate this assignment at any time for cause or, in its sole discretion, for convenience; in either case, Georgia Tech’s obligation shall be limited to payment for hours and/or days worked before the termination date exactly three years from start date.
