Senior Accountant

TRC Talent Solutions is seeking a Senior Accountant for a leading structural engineering firm in Atlanta, GA. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing general ledger activities, account reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable support, financial reporting, and project accounting activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

• Manage day-to-day general accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Support preparation of financial statements, management reports, and other financial analysis.
• Manage accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, collections support, and account reconciliation.
• Monitor aging reports and assist in resolving outstanding payables and receivables.
• Collaborate with project accountants and assist with project financial support as needed.
• Assist with project financial analysis, project closeout activities, and review project financial data for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and book equity and acquisition transactions.
• Assist with annual audit requests and preparation of supporting documentation.
• Assist the Accounting Manager with special projects, system implementations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the AEC industry.
• Strong experience with general ledger accounting, month-end close, year-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliation, and internal controls.
• Experience working with ERP/accounting systems required, such as Acumatica, Deltek Ajera, Deltek Vantagepoint, or similar accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• CPA is a plus.
