Atrium has a construction company client who is looking for a Senior Consolidations Accountant. The Senior Consolidations Accountant will play a key role in the monthly close, global consolidation, and financial reporting processes for a multinational organization. This position is responsible for independently managing complex consolidation activities across multiple entities and currencies, including intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translation, equity method accounting, and consolidated financial reporting.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, extensive month-end close experience, and a proven ability to work across a complex global organization. This individual will partner with corporate accounting, FP&A, finance leadership, and international business units to ensure accurate and timely reporting while driving improvements to consolidation processes, controls, and financial systems.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation activities for a multinational organization with multiple legal entities and currencies.
- Prepare, review, and analyze complex consolidation entries, including intercompany eliminations, FX remeasurement, foreign currency translation, and CTA.
- Own the consolidation process from entity-level reporting through final consolidated financial statements.
- Apply US GAAP and technical accounting guidance to complex transactions, including equity method accounting and consolidation matters.
- Lead and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely completion of corporate accounting requirements.
- Review account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules to ensure balance sheet integrity and reporting accuracy.
- Identify and resolve complex accounting and consolidation issues in partnership with global finance and accounting teams.
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements and management reporting packages for senior leadership.
- Analyze consolidated results and provide meaningful explanations of financial performance, including significant variances and trends.
- Partner with FP&A and business leaders to improve financial reporting, forecasting support, and analysis.
- Ensure consolidated financial information is complete, accurate, and delivered within established reporting deadlines.
- Support internal and external reporting requirements and provide information necessary for audits and other financial reviews.
- Research and interpret US GAAP guidance and apply accounting principles to complex transactions.
- Evaluate accounting implications related to acquisitions, investments, intercompany activity, foreign currency, and other non-routine transactions.
- Maintain strong internal controls over the consolidation and financial reporting processes.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and technical accounting documentation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for accounting teams across the organization.
- Identify and lead opportunities to streamline and automate consolidation, close, and reporting processes.
- Improve the accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of the monthly close cycle.
- Develop and implement standardized reporting processes and controls across global entities.
- Leverage advanced Excel, Power BI, and other analytical tools to improve financial reporting and decision-making.
- Utilize consolidation and financial reporting systems such as Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) or similar platforms.
- Partner with Finance/IT teams on system enhancements, implementations, and process transformation initiatives.
- Act as a key accounting resource for complex consolidation and reporting matters.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to accountants and other members of the corporate accounting team.
- Partner with international accounting teams and business leaders to ensure consistency in accounting and reporting practices.
- Take ownership of complex projects and work independently with limited supervision.
- Communicate accounting conclusions, financial results, and process recommendations clearly to senior finance leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience
, with significant experience in consolidations and financial reporting. - Strong understanding and practical application of US GAAP.
- Extensive hands-on experience with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Proven experience with multinational consolidations involving multiple legal entities and currencies.
