Job Summary
The Senior Rebate Analyst is responsible for the administration, configuration, analysis, and reconciliation of vendor rebate programs to ensure accurate earnings recognition, financial reporting, and compliance with contractual agreements. This role partners closely with Procurement, Merchandising, Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, and vendor partners to support rebate system implementation, maintain financial accuracy, optimize rebate processes, and ensure ongoing operational excellence. The ideal candidate has strong rebate accounting experience, advanced analytical skills, and expertise with financial systems and process improvement.
Job Responsibilities- Administer and maintain vendor rebate programs within the rebate management system.
- Support system implementation activities, including configuration, testing, validation, and post-go-live stabilization.
- Review vendor rebate agreements and ensure accurate system configuration based on contractual terms.
- Validate accrual logic, billing rules, and reporting outputs.
- Perform data migration validation and reconcile data between legacy systems and the rebate management platform.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues while partnering with Information Technology and system support teams.
- Lead monthly rebate accrual calculations, reconciliations, billing, and financial reporting activities.
- Analyze purchasing and rebate data to ensure accurate earnings recognition and financial reporting.
- Monitor rebate receivables and assist with vendor discrepancy resolution.
- Prepare documentation to support internal and external audit requirements.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for rebate management processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, automate manual processes, and strengthen internal controls.
- Create reports and dashboards to improve rebate visibility, forecasting, and financial performance.
- Support user training and knowledge transfer related to rebate processes and systems.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Merchandising, Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, and vendor partners.
- Communicate process risks, implementation issues, and recommended solutions to leadership.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in rebate accounting, financial analysis, contract administration, or a related accounting or finance role.
- Direct experience implementing or administering the Enable Vendor Rebate system strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting ERP integrations or financial system implementations.
- Experience with rebate accounting, accrual accounting, and financial reconciliations.
- Experience supporting internal and external audits and compliance initiatives.
- Experience documenting business processes and maintaining internal controls preferred.
- Experience in a distribution, automotive, or multi-entity environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles and financial controls.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reconciliation analysis, and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet implementation and reporting deadlines.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
