Controller Position
Seeking a Controller to oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and operational finance. Lead month-end close, manage general ledger, drive financial analysis, support audits, and partner with operations to improve processes. Full-time, immediate hire. Atlanta, GA. Ensure accurate financial reporting, strengthen controls, and support strategic business initiatives. Office environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and mission-driven. Salary is commensurate with experience.
The Controller will lead monthly close, financial reporting, budgeting, and operational finance for co-manufacturing operations. Supports audits, intercompany, consolidation, and process improvements.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting Operations & Close
- Lead or support monthly close: journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and account analysis
- Maintain general ledger activities and internal controls
- Prepare reporting packages and financial analyses for leadership
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Perform variance analysis vs prior periods and budget/forecast
- Partner with operational leaders for finance insights
- Review financial statements and key account reasonableness
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead annual budgets and monthly forecasts
- Manage budget-to-actual reviews and communicate trends
Intercompany & Consolidation
- Coordinate intercompany activity and support consolidation
- Contribute to internal and external reporting needs
Audit, Compliance & Controls
- Support external auditors with documentation and issue resolution
- Ensure accounting complies with US GAAP (IFRS/ASPE exposure a plus)
Systems & Process Improvement
- Drive automation and process improvement initiatives
- Gain proficiency with financial and operational systems
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA preferred; experience with US GAAP, IFRS, or ASPE acceptable
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting experience a plus
- Strong accounting theory and financial reporting knowledge
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort with financial/business systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with strategic thinking ability
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Self-motivated, independent, and team-oriented
