Project Accountant – Commercial Construction

An established commercial construction company is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to support multiple construction projects and collaborate with project managers and leadership.

Manage project financials, billing, cost tracking, contract administration, and reporting while ensuring accurate and timely accounting throughout the project lifecycle.

This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity available immediately. Buckhead, Atlanta, Georgia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project accounting for multiple active construction projects.
  • Process owner billings, subcontractor pay applications, and change orders.
  • Track project costs, budgets, commitments, and forecasts.
  • Prepare monthly project financial reports and cost analyses.
  • Reconcile project accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Assist with contract administration and compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate lien waivers, certificates of insurance, and subcontract documentation.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure projects remain financially on track.
  • Maintain accurate records within the accounting and project management systems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of project accounting experience within the commercial construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction billing, job costing, and contract administration.
  • Experience with construction accounting software such as Sage, Viewpoint, CMiC, or similar ERP systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
