As an Accountant at Global Payments, you’ll play an important role in keeping our accounts payable processes running smoothly, protecting the quality of our financial data and enabling the business to operate with confidence.
you’ll own
- Drive accurate, high-volume accounting processing across assigned accounts payable activities, ensuring valid transactions reach the right outcomes and financial records remain accurate.
- Protect financial controls and compliance by applying company policies, standard operating procedures and internal controls consistently throughout the accounting process.
- Own employee expense audits by validating claims, receipts and policy compliance, resolving exceptions and ensuring reimbursements move forward accurately and on schedule.
- Strengthen month-end close by preparing accrual information, reconciliations and closing reports that contribute to accurate and timely US financial consolidation.
- Resolve accounting issues with confidence by analyzing exceptions, researching discrepancies and working with colleagues to reach clear, compliant solutions.
- Improve expense and card program accuracy by reconciling employee expense reports against card charges, researching past-due accounts and identifying issues that require action.
- Create clear financial insight through schedules, analyses and reporting that give leaders the information they need to make informed decisions.
- Build deep accounting expertise across systems, processes and country-specific requirements, creating opportunities to improve how accounting work gets done in a global environment.
- A bachelor’s degree in accountancy or a related accounting field, from a recognized college or university.
- At least four years of combined experience in accounts payable, general accounting and/or audit, with a strong understanding of accounting processes and controls.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to investigate exceptions, resolve issues and know when to escal[?] more complex matters.
- Proficiency with accounting applications and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to work confidently with high volumes of financial information.
- Clear English communication skills, enabling you to communicate effectively with colleagues, explain policy requirements and resolve questions through written and verbal communication.
- A detail-focused and accountable approach, with the discipline to follow established processes while looking for opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency.
It’s a bonus if you have
- Experience working in a multinational environment, giving you insight into working across different markets, processes and requirements.
- Experience with Oracle, SAP Ariba or automated expense management tools, allowing you to quickly build expertise across Global Payments’ accounting systems.
- Experience managing employee expense or card programs, including reconciliations, expense audits, payment status inquiries and exception handling.
