Manager, Technical Accounting
Provide U.S. GAAP accounting and reporting guidance to the Evoqua North America finance team, and hold central ownership of accounting for complex areas including revenue recognition, purchase accounting and restructuring.
Core Responsibilities- Provide technical guidance on complex GAAP matters and serve as the key technical accounting liaison for Evoqua North America businesses.
- Work with Xylem’s Corporate Technical Accounting Group to develop and implement policies and procedures addressing new accounting guidance.
- Interface with legal, sales and finance functions to determine the accounting/financial implications of new customer contracts.
- Oversee review of customer contracts and ensure appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
- Apply a process‑improvement mindset to the accounting function, identifying opportunities to automate, streamline and improve processes.
- Partner with Corporate Treasury, Tax and Legal groups to support strategic initiatives such as tax reorganizations and treasury investment programs.
- Advise the Financial Planning and Analysis group on the accounting implications of proposed programs and transactions.
- Manage accounting for business combinations, divestitures and other structural changes, including oversight of third‑party advisors.
- Assist in integrating newly acquired businesses, including preparation of opening balance sheets and adoption of Xylem policies and procedures (purchase accounting).
- Serve as key contact for Human Resources and Operational Finance on restructuring and realignment initiatives.
- Provide training on technical accounting topics to members of the finance team.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors on technical accounting matters.
- Perform special projects and analyses assigned by the Evoqua Assistant Controller.
- Prepare and review data for Xylem’s regulatory filings with the SEC, including Forms 10‑Q and 10‑K.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance.
- CPA required.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in a public‑accounting firm and/or a controller function of a major international company; experience in both is a plus.
- Supervisor experience required.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple projects and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge of One Stream, SAP, CoStar, Visual Lease and Workiva is a plus.
Estimated salary range: $91,500 to $164,500 annually, plus bonus opportunities.
