Engineering Design Technologies, Inc. (EDT), a multidisciplinary design-build firm based in Marietta, GA, is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable / Project Accountant to join our growing finance team. This is a full-time, in-office role where you’ll play a key part in managing the billing cycle, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and strengthening client relationships.
We’re looking for someone with at least five years of accounts receivable or project accounting experience in construction, engineering, or a related field who thrives in a fast-paced environment, works well with project teams, and can manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the full project billing cycle, from preparing invoices to tracking collections.
- Partner with Project Managers and Principals-in-Charge to review contract terms, change orders, and project budgets.
- Ensure compliance with public sector contract requirements and internal billing standards.
- Investigate and resolve billing variances, cash posting discrepancies, and collection issues.
- Maintain detailed AR files, project contract documentation, and monthly revenue/aging reports.
- Support project setup, time/expense transfers, job cost tracking, and revenue recognition.
- Provide audit support and assist with special financial analyses as needed.
- Recommend and implement process improvements through Sage 300 Construction & Real Estate (Timberline).
- Strong accounting foundation, with a clear understanding of how AR transactions tie into the general ledger.
- Hands-on experience with Sage/Timberline (Sage 300 CRE) software required.
- Proven ability to work directly with clients and internal stakeholders to resolve billing or collection challenges.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills for problem-solving and variance analysis.

- In-person role at our Marietta, GA headquarters (candidates must reliably commute or plan to relocate prior to start)
- 3+ years of billing/accounts receivable experience (5+ years strongly preferred)
- Prior construction or engineering industry experience required
